UNIverse launch: Changes in easyWeb at a glance

The University of Basel has launched its new publication and project database UNIverse. This entails changes for easyWeb in the display of publication and project lists.

The new publication and project database UNIverse of the University of Basel has been put into operation, which also affects easyWeb.

In case of problems with the display of publications or projects on easyWeb, please contact universe@clutterunibas.ch / 061 207 19 11 directly

The data from the previous research database and EDOC were migrated as part of the UNIverse project. This resulted in some changes that affect the display in easyWeb. The changes we are aware of so far are listed below:

Master's theses and doctoral theses

All master's and doctoral theses that were only recorded in EDOC will temporarily (until around Q2 2024) not be displayed in the easyWeb publication lists, even if they were selected in the corresponding publication type filter.

Dissertations from the research database are excluded. These are displayed, but for the time being without a link to EDOC.

Workaround: As a workaround, a direct link to EDOC can be set up to display these works in EDOC. Further information on this can be found on the UNIverse help page.

Missing publications when filtering for author

During the migration to UNIverse, in some cases no links between author and publication could be established, which can lead to missing publications on certain profile pages or on publication lists with a filter on authors.

Solution: After the go-live of UNIverse, this problem can be solved by the users themselves. Instructions can be found on the UNIverse help page.

Preprint publications

As with master's and doctoral theses, some preprint publications are temporarily (until around Q2 2024) not displayed in the easyWeb publication lists, even if they have been selected in the corresponding publication type filter.

Workaround: As a workaround, a direct link to EDOC can be set up to display these works in EDOC. Further information on this can be found on the UNIverse help page.
