Release 3.2.1
This quite large release introduces some new features and improvements. Among other things, a connection for Panopto was created, the reading direction of texts can be changed using the editor, FAQ lists can now be displayed as an accordion and the language Japanese was added.
Visible improvements:
- [MEDIA] Video links from Panopto can now be easily deposited and the frontend embeds the linked video.
- [MEDIA] The change time of the images for the element slider can now be adjusted.
- [SYSTEM] A new language has been added: Japanese
- [SYSTEM] Texts, which are entered via the editor, can now get a different text direction. So the reading direction can be changed from left to right to right to left.
- [SYSTEM] A new feature has been introduced to help keep track of the backend. Buttons have been added to each element to highlight the elements in a translated language. (This feature is unfortunately still buggy in some browsers).
- [SYSTEM] The input of DOI links has been simplified. There is now a new DOI tab in the link menu.
- [SYSTEM] The preview display in the backend for very long URLs in the iFrame element has been improved so that the URL breaks if the screen is too small.
- [SYSTEM] From now on, all backend users belonging to persons who are no longer working at the university will be deleted regularly.
- [PERSONS] The profile pages of persons who are no longer displayed in lists of persons, but who are still present as profile pages, are regularly deleted. Should the person reappear in a person list, their profile will be restored from the recycler.
- [PERSONS] Lists of persons can now also be grouped by the lowest organizational unit or function.
- [PERSONS] Two filters with the same name (formerly "Organization(s) in ForschDB/edoc") have been renamed to clarify the difference.
- [PERSONEN] The two links "Current lectures" and "All lectures" became one link "Lectures". This shows all lectures of the person sorted by semester (thus also the current lectures).
- [PERSONS] A new layout for lists of persons has been added. The persons can now also be displayed in the way of teaser boxes.
- [PERSONEN] A feature has been added to lists of persons that allows the list to be loaded differently. If the editor enables this feature, the list will not be reloaded until it becomes visible on the screen snippet. There is a loading animation until the list is ready to be loaded.
- [FAQ] A new layout for FAQ lists has been added. FAQs can now be displayed as an accordion.
- [SEARCH] The search for news, events and FAQs with assigned tags has been corrected. No error message is now displayed instead of search results.
- [FORMS] The email address and name of the automatically sent emails have been unified.
- [FORM] Improvements have been made to the fonts and appearance of the form elements.
- [SUBSCRIPTION] The emails of the Content Subscription feature now contain the correct name in the salutation.
Hidden improvements
- [SYSTEM] The login page, for local logins, is now only accessible on the university intranet. This does not affect normal user logins.
- [SYSTEM] The contact form in the test data has been corrected.
- [SYSTEM] Consolidation of permissions and permission groups.
- [SYSTEM] The home shortcut is now not visible for the Support group anymore.
- [SYSTEM] The hostname has been removed from the TYPO3 system so that it is independent of the domain name.
- [PERSONEN] Improvement of the log output, which profile page was created by which person list.
